Refund and Returns Policy

This Refund & Returns Policy applies to all purchases made through Stephae.com, operated by Stephae Life, a Sydney‑inspired lifestyle boutique. This policy is designed to comply with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).


1. Your Rights Under Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to:

  • A replacement or refund for a major failure
  • Compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage
  • A repair or replacement if goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure

These rights apply regardless of any store policy.


2. Change of Mind Returns

We offer change of mind returns for eligible items provided that:

  • The request is made within 14 days of delivery
  • The item is unused, unworn, unwashed, and in original condition
  • All original tags, packaging, and proof of purchase are included

Change of mind returns are not available for:

  • Food and perishable items
  • Earrings and intimate items
  • Digital downloads
  • Gift cards
  • Clearance or sale items (unless faulty)

Return shipping costs for change of mind returns are the responsibility of the customer.


3. Faulty, Damaged, or Incorrect Items

If you receive a faulty, damaged, or incorrect item, please contact us within 7 days of delivery with:

  • Your order number
  • A description of the issue
  • Clear photos of the item and packaging

We will assess the issue and provide a repair, replacement, or refund in accordance with Australian Consumer Law. Return shipping will be covered by us where the fault is confirmed.


4. Refund Processing

Once your return is received and approved:

  • Refunds will be processed to the original payment method
  • Please allow 5–10 business days for your bank or provider to process the funds
  • Shipping fees are non‑refundable unless the item is faulty or incorrect

5. Exchanges

We offer exchanges for eligible items subject to stock availability. If the requested exchange item is unavailable, a store credit or refund will be issued.


6. Gift Returns

If the item was marked as a gift, you may receive a store credit equal to the value of the return. Gift cards are non‑refundable.


7. Return Method

All return requests must be approved before sending items back. Unauthorised returns may not be accepted.


8. Cancellations

Orders may only be cancelled before they have been dispatched. Once shipped, orders must follow the standard return process.


9. International Orders

International customers are responsible for all return shipping costs, customs duties, and taxes unless the item is confirmed faulty.
